Newton Public Library
Want to join a book club but just don't have the time for a regular meeting? Just looking for some great book recommendations? This is the book club for you! Each month there’s a new book selection, but there’s never a meeting. Pick up your copy at the Information desk. Books will be available on the first of the month, and are due back to the library by the end of the month. The June book selection is, "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt.
Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you're done with them - keep the craft! The June theme is "Distant Lands" and includes books about travel, adventure, and faraway places. The craft is a "Lord of the Rings" inspired hobbit door wreath. Registration opens May 30th. Ages 18+ Please direct message the library on Facebook or call 641-792-4108 to register.
Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us for Preschool Storytime on Thursday mornings. Storytime includes books, music, and a simple craft. Siblings are welcome to attend. No registration required.
Readers of all ages are invited to register for the Summer Reading program at our Summer Reading Kick-Off! There will be program information for Adults, and children can pick up their first Summer Reading brag tag. Attendees will also receive a ticket for a free ice cream treat from the Sea Turtle Ice Cream truck. Gluten free and dairy free options will be available.
